TIFFANY STONE RICHTER BRINGS IT HOME ON DEBUT ALBUM
It’s been a personal journey of love, music and a long-fulfilled dream for Tiffany Stone Richter. The Oklahoma native recently completed her debut solo album, “Dawning Of A New Day,” and has big plans to spread her message of renewal and faith to the masses.
“Dawning Of A New Day” weaves its musical tapestry through 10 diverse yet cohesive tracks. The set, produced by Tiffany’s brother Jared Stone, takes its cue from neo-soul jazz influences, mixed with hip hop, pop, adult contemporary and even southern Gospel. The eclectic feel keeps the album from ever being dull, and takes the listener on a joyride of soothing sounds and incredibly tight harmonies.
“This project is long overdue. Tiffany has one of the most versatile yet controlled voices around. There was quite a variety of influences into this record. What came out, we feel, was something that can reach the heart of an individual-not just make them move,” said Jared Stone.
The project began this past summer, with Tiffany hopping flights back and forth from her current home in Alabama to her old stomping grounds. The fast-paced atmosphere of the album gives it a fresh appealing quality lacking in most of today’s musical landscape. And for Tiffany, it was also a family affair.
Not only did she enlist the help of her brother for the production end, she cast both her parents as well, leaning on her mother for some of the songwriting and her father for additional instrumentation. The whole family takes over the show on the LP’s closing track, “I Want To Come Home.”
“The Family Stone, as I call us, have sung together the entire time I can remember. There’s nothing like the family harmony on and off stage. I was always the drummer, Tiff and Mom sang, and Dad was on the keys and singing, adding the soulful gospel to whatever we did. So, having everyone on the final track was a no-brainer, perfect ending!” said Jared.
“Dawning Of A New Day” has something for every listener. Those looking to groove can feel the flow on tracks like “Let Me Love,” “Closer” and the album’s title track. Not in the mood to dance? Tiffany’s got the perfect laid-back fare with beautiful ballads like “Everything Happens For A Reason,” “He Spoke Peace” and the haunting “I Will Follow Him.
For Tiffany, the realization of this album was a dream come true, and a jumping off point for things to come.
“It’s the end of an era for me,” said Tiffany. “The failed attempts, the missed opportunities, the coulda’s, the shoulda’s and the woulda’s are laid to rest with this project. At one time, I would have been scared of an ending like this. But now I understand. It’s only the dawn of something new.”
